Hello students-new and returning.  As returning students walk around the school they will probably see some new staff working here or previous staff working in new positions. We should all stop and say hi and congratulate them.  Here is a list of who they are and a bit of information about each of them.

In the custodial department, we have Ed Eaton.  He started with us on August 3, 2017. He is working the part time shift 4-8 pm. Ed comes to us from Home Depot where he was on the Merchandising Execution Team. He has had worked as a Correctional Officer, Custody Officer and a Security Officer.

Marika Adamek joined the Registrar’s Office as our new Records Clerk. Marika had worked in the Student Support Center last spring as Administrative Support. She worked with both staff and students, scheduling appointments and processing records.

Phillip Sawatzki resigned from his Lab Manager position, and took a fulltime Faculty position as a Biology Instructor for AY 17 -18. While working in his staff position, Phillip also worked as a faculty in our Science Department, teaching courses in Molecular and Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Introductory Biology, and Introductory Chemistry Laboratory.

Beau Howard accepted the role of Lab Manager. Beau is a Helena College graduate. He also worked as a work study in a couple of areas including, the Academic Support desk, TRIO tutor, and as a Science Lab Assistant. Beau started on August 14, 2017.

Colleen Watson has accepted the Barista position. Colleen has owned and operated a coffee shop in the past. Her background is vast from customer service to theater arts. Colleen started on August 18, 2017. (We should all be very grateful we all know most of us need that coffee to get through the day) 😊

Both Kim Feig, Sociology Instructor, and Mounika Pokuri, Computer Science Instructor, are here!

Let’s have an awesome school year and make sure everyone new and old feel welcomed.

The First Special Service Force & Helena: A Love Story

Details:  Learn how an elite force of American and Canadian soldiers came to Helena in 1942 to train for special operations in World War II and formed a bond with the community that lasted a lifetime. While these men are known collectively as the Devil's Brigade, to many in Helena they are simply called "Dad" or "Granddad." Vietnam era veteran, history teacher and historical playwright, Terri Atwood shares the personal tales of these brave soldiers whose story is bigger than anything Hollywood could have imagined.
